The 2021 Castello dei Rampolla Chianti Classico is a well-crafted red wine hailing from the esteemed Chianti Classico region in Tuscany, Italy. This vintage is primarily composed of 80% Sangiovese, complemented by 16% Merlot and a small addition of Cabernet Sauvignon. The Sangiovese grapes were aged in cask, while the French varietals matured in smaller French barrels.

Antonio Galloni of Vinous awarded the wine a score of 91, describing it as "an elegant, gracious wine." According to Galloni, the 2021 vintage features a delicate and understated profile, showcasing "crushed flowers, bright red-toned fruit, tobacco, cinnamon and dried flowers." He also noted the presence of a slight touch of volatile acidity in the bouquet, though it was not particularly pronounced.

Galloni highlighted the wine's finesse and elegance, asserting that it is already showing beautifully. He remarked, "A model of elegance and finesse, the 2021 is showing beautifully today." This suggests that the wine is ready to be enjoyed now, but it may also benefit from additional aging.

In summary, the 2021 Castello dei Rampolla Chianti Classico is a refined and nuanced wine that embodies the elegance typical of the Chianti Classico appellation. With its balanced blend of Sangiovese, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, and careful aging process, this wine offers a complex and enjoyable tasting experience. Antonio Galloni's positive review underscores its quality, making it a noteworthy choice for enthusiasts of Italian red wines.
